I paint landscapes because I am endlessly intrigued by the colors and feeling of my natural environment. I hope to create interesting work that makes the viewer look deeply and feel some sort of emotional connection to the painting. I work in pastels as my medium of choice because the depth of color and the soft quality of chalk is like painting and drawing at the same time.
